he LTC®2487 is a 4-channel (2 differential channels), 16-bit, No Latency ΔΣ™ ADC utilizing Easy Drive technology and a 2-wire, I2C interface. This patented sampling scheme eliminates dynamic input current errors and on-chip buffering drawbacks through automatic cancellation of differential input currents. This enables direct digitization of large external source impedances and rail-to-rail input signals while maintaining excellent DC accuracy. The LTC2487 features programmable gain, a high accuracy temperature sensor and an integrated oscillator. The device can be configured to measure an external signal (from a combination of four analog input channels operating in single-ended or differential mode) or its internal temperature sensor. An integrated temperature sensor provides 1/2ºC resolution and 2ºC absolute accuracy. The LTC2487 can be configured to provide a programmable gain ranging from 1 to 256 in 8 steps. The LTC2487 offers a wide common-mode input range (0V to VCC), independent of the reference voltage. Any combination of single-ended or differential inputs can be selected, and the first conversion (after selecting a new channel) is valid. An optional external amplifier can be shared between all analog inputs using the multiplexer output, and an autocalibration circuit will continuously remove offset and drift introduced by these amplifiers.
